On May 16, 1944, something extraordinary happened in the Auschwitz concentration camp. Roma imprisoned in the so-called Gypsy camp rebelled against SS members. This event is almost unknown in the Czech Republic, although it is associated with the increasingly popular Roma Resistance Day worldwide.
